Reasons To Be Cheerful

So here I am at my very first post on a new Blog.

I am intensely proud of my writings having been asked by someone who wishes to remain nameless.

This is not because she has two heads, it's because she wishes to remain anonymous and I will respect that as will you.

So why have I called my Blog The Bridge Of Shame? Well some close to me do not like what I write. They denigrate my efforts but I will not be diverted, I will not cross The Bridge Of Shame.

As it's my first post some poetry for you:

Warm And Tender Love

I don't know how she found me
My darling dearest one
But I knew my past was over
And my future had begun

Sir, she said, I'll love you
Until the end of time
But how will you convince me
That truly you'll be mine?

'I'll love you in the morning
I'll love you noon and night
With my arms around you
I will take away your fright

And if you swear I'll fit you
Like a hand within your glove
I'll come and enfold you
In my warm and tender love.'

Then I took her in my arms
And with me she did lay
And she showed me all her charms
And never did I stray (Oh no)

But oftentimes she’d ask me
Whether always I'd be true
I'd turn to her my eyes to see
All sudden filled with dew

'But I've loved you in the morning
I've loved you noon and night
With my arms around you
I did take away your fright

And as you swore I'd fit you
Like my hand within your glove
I came and enfolded you
In my warm and tender love.'

Now listen to me brothers
For you should plainly see
The way to keep your woman keen
Is total honesty

And if you want to keep her true
And never to go wrong
All you ever have to do
Is live and breathe this song

No matter what you hear
You’ll always find me near

No matter what you see
Right here is where I’ll be

No matter what you smell
The rest can go to hell

No matter what you say
There’ll always be a day

No matter what you sing
Oh ring a ding ding

'I'll love you in the morning
I'll love you noon and night
With my arms around you
I will take away your fright

And if you swear I'll fit you
Like a hand within your glove
I'll come and enfold you
In my warm and tender love.’
